Things you should know about know about Therapy. Including, how your confidentiality is protected and other useful information.
Therapy is a tool commonly viewed only necessary to treat a range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and grief. Therapy, however, can also be beneficial before the onset of major conditions, which is why the expectations from therapy will vary based on the personal goals a client wishes to achieve.
Therapy sessions vary from person to person depending on treatment goals and when the treatment goals are met. Weekly sessions are recommended, however may decrease to biweekly or monthly as therapy persist.
During your first session, your therapist will sign and review your therapy intake forms. Then introductions will be made in order to establish trust and begin learning more about you on a personal level. Your therapist will then begin your initial evaluation by asking about your reasons for seeking therapy, current or past mental health symptoms, and establish personal goals to work on in therapy.
Cost of Therapy depends on whether the client is paying out of pocket or their visit is covered under an insurance provider. The price of therapy ranges from $90 to $120 per session. Though, clients with insurance coverage, out of pocket cost will vary depending on deductible and benefits.
It is recommended that therapy should be between the person or persons seeking treatment and the Therapist. Friends and Family can accompany you to the clinicians office and may wait in the waiting room during sessions.
