Lera Less is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play therapist and Certified Anger Management Specialist with over 18 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Norfolk State University in 1999 and went on to pursue her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Clark Atlanta University. Lera also obtained a Certification in School Counseling from Mercer University and specialized training in Play therapy and Anger management. She has worked in a variety of settings providing mental health and (s) abuse counseling to a diverse range of clients.

Lera’s core beliefs and practices treat each client as an individual case, with uniquely tailored therapeutic needs. She provides a supportive environment and utilizes a team approach to assist clients with developing new skills to resolve their problems.CBT (Cognitive Behavioral therapy) and Solution Focused Therapy are two theoretical models frequently utilized in her practice. Kara Kirz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 5 plus years of experience working in the mental health and medical fields.  She earned a Master of Clinical Social Work from the University of Georgia.  She has experience working with older adults, adults, young adults, teens and children within inpatient and outpatient settings.  Kara is competent in facilitating individual and group therapy for individuals in need of treatment for mood disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar I and bipolar II.  She is also proficient in counseling issues due to (s) use disorders, grief and loss, trauma, death and dying, end of life issues, life transitions/adjustments, and persistent mental health diagnoses such as schizophrenia.

Carolyn Adams

Carolyn Adams earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Mississippi University for Women in 1976. Mrs.Adams earned a Master of Science in Counseling in 1991 and Master of Social Work in 19991 from Jackson State University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Work with over twenty years of Social work practice experience and is trained in helping families prepare for adoption, counseling individuals in abusive relationships and trauma, working with teen and teen mothers, and providing support and coaching for growth and well-being.  She is also certified in Emotional Intelligence and is a Myers Briggs Personality Assessment Practitioner. 

In addition, Mrs.Adams is trained to administer (S)Abuse Screening Inventories. Latesha Mitchell

       Latesha Mitchell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 5 years of working in the mental health field. Latesha obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Armstrong State University, and completed her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University housed in their school of medicine. In addition to having training and expertise in general theoretical models of therapy, Latesha had advanced level training in working with clients who present with medical concerns. She has experience working with the toddler through teen populations and their families and working collaboratively with members of an interdisciplinary medical team. She gained experience doing therapy with families and assisting a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician during autism evaluations and follow-ups. In addition to her clinical work involving medical populations, she also had the pleasure of serving individuals, couples, and families struggling with mental health disorders or other life stressors utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities. Likewise, Latesha has experience in a more traditional setting with families and youth who are involved in the juvenile justice system. 

Latesha’s goal for therapy is to work collaboratively with clients and assist them in achieving their goals in every area possible. Latesha’s style of therapy is eclectic and she tends to use certain models based on the client’s unique needs.  Bowen Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy are just a few of the modalities utilized. Tameran Hinson

With over 25 years of service in the field of mental health, Tameran Hinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor.  She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida State University before completing her master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University.  She initially offered community-based therapy services to first-time juvenile offenders and their families in Florida.  Since that time, she has honed her clinical skills in various settings, including inpatient stabilization/detoxification units, comorbid outpatient programs, and private practice.  

 

Tameran takes an integrative, collaborative approach to working with clients.  This includes identifying goals as well as the strategies necessary to promote positive change. Many of the transformations that Tameran has been a part of have come through the use of homework paired with clinical modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy and interpersonal therapy.  Tameran is adept in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, women’s issues, life transitions, relationship stress as well as premarital and marital challenges.
